Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga according to Yogi Bhajan is an authentic, holistic and therapeutic form of yoga - designed to meet the challenges of the times we live in.

Kundalini Yoga is called "the yoga of consciousness" and is the origin of Medical Yoga because it offers a treasure trove of effective and therapeutic exercises and techniques. Experience a different and exciting form of yoga where, in addition to physical exercise, you will experience increased mental and emotional health and develop a deeper connection with your unlimited consciousness and life force!

Yin yoga

Yin Yoga is a calm form of yoga that is suitable for everyone. You hold each position for 3 minutes or longer, which produces many unique effects. The desired changes occur in connective tissue and joints, as well as a great release of stress and tension. You also achieve good recovery and rest, and learn to let go.

Vinyasa yoga

Vinyasa Yoga, (or Flow Yoga) is the meeting point between breath, movement and meditation. By moving through sequences of asanas, with the aim of creating a good flow between postures, we strengthen and open our whole being - body, heart and mind. Breathing is the foundation of Vinyasa Yoga, and we learn to breathe deeply and therapeutically while exploring both simple and complex movement patterns.
All our vinyasa classes start with a warm-up, gradually build towards a climax, and end with deep relaxation.

At Northern Light Yoga we offer a varied selection of Vinyasa classes for all levels.

Hatha yoga

Hatha yoga

Hatha Yoga, also known as classical yoga, is one of the oldest forms of yoga. It is about finding a balance between body and mind. The exercises in Hatha Yoga take place in calm movements where you spend more time in each asana (yoga position) and the correct execution of each position is central. Through various breathing exercises (pranayama) and the exciting positions of yoga, you will experience a deeper connection with yourself, both physically and mentally.

Hatha Yoga increases strength, balance, flexibility, concentration and body control. Through the exercises, you release tension while increasing your mental awareness.

Pilates

Pilates

Pilates can be practiced as a separate form of exercise, or as a complementary exercise to the yoga practice.
This class focuses on classic Pilates exercises and builds on the basic principles of Pilates.
The aim is to clarify the exercises and increase understanding of the technique. The core muscles are maintained, developed and stabilized by strengthening the small and deep muscle groups that support the spine. Detailed coordination of breathing and movement builds strength and flexibility.
Pilates has a preventive and rehabilitative effect on injuries, stress and muscular problems and can be practiced by everyone.

Cardio Barre

Cardio Barre

Cardio Barre with Clair Constant (Pilates Cardio) is an effective and good form of exercise derived from ballet classes that can be done by everyone because you have the barre to lean on! Join Clair Constant for a new and exciting class with choreographed movements to catchy music!

Flow Arts

Flow Arts

A dynamic and playful class where we find a meditative flow through breath and movement.
The class opens with a guided meditation, moves through a warm-up of the whole system and then into a vinyasa flow. We work with core muscles (core), bandhas, Ujjayi breathing and hand therapy before we calm down with yin elements and land in a long and deep relaxation.

Breathwork

Breathwork

In this class you are invited to get to know your breathing on a basic and deep level.

Breathing is intimately connected to every part of our being and mastering the breath reveals incredible possibilities.
At the same time, most people breathe in a limited way through learned breathing patterns that impede the flow of life force and clarity. In this class, you will be guided through breath-based exercises and meditations designed to clear, reprogram and revitalize the body, mind and soul. Establish an enriched relationship with your breath and reap the rewards of living in a body where the breath is allowed to flow freely as it was created to do. The class ends in a meditation where your breath guides you into deep rest and stillness. Come as you are, no prior knowledge necessary.
