Haridev and Iselin share how yoga entered their lives many moons ago!

Haridev Welcome! This is Haridev.
Iselin: Hi, my name is Iselin.
Haridev: So Iselin do you teach at Core Balance and how did you get into yoga?
Iselin: Well, I've actually been teaching yoga for about a decade and I started in it when I was very young. I was a dancer and I actually borrowed this book from the library, this is going to be a long episode now! I'll make the story short, but I liked some poses and started meditating on my own, just through books. And then, when I was studying dance here in Oslo, many moons ago, I was very stressed, so I turned to my tools for meditation and yoga, at the time when you had to put on a DVD.
Haridev: That's how I started too! I found a book and I thought this is amazing! And then I found a video online, and then I got a Kundalini Yoga DVD. That's how I started Kundalini Yoga.
Iselin: Cool! I did Hatha yoga. I did a Hatha teacher training in Italy where I lived for many years. But then I turned from yoga...well, I'm still doing yoga and teaching yoga, but during the pandemic I needed something else because I lost a lot of my classes, so I started teaching Barre, which is a great combination with yoga because it strengthens your whole body and it's really good also for your mindset because it's very tough. Like Kundalini yoga, sometimes it is too! But yes, it can be a great addition to your yoga practice.
Haridev: So when do you learn Barre?
Iselin: I mostly teach Barre on weekends, so it fits perfectly with your schedule if you're not going to your cabin! But I teach Barre stretch on Saturdays, and then we have Barre on Sundays and Thursdays too. So we're going to have lots of fun workshops this spring, so it's a perfect opportunity to bring a friend and train together!
