About journeys past and future

And so we have almost reached the end of the Yoga Teacher Training program at Northern Light. 8 journeys to Oslo. 8 steps on the road.

A journey we did not take alone, but as a group. A reminder that we are never alone. If we open our eyes, we see that we are many on the road.

Before us, beside us and after us.

Whatever we are going through, deeply painful life experiences and existential questions. Believe that this is the path for all of us, even though it may look different.

And as with everything on earth, we must accept and embody the duality of it all.

We are never alone. And yet we always are.

Do you dare to take it? To be alone in all our experiences. In all our actions and reactions. In all the consequences we bear.

Do you dare to straighten your back and take responsibility? Do you dare to step forward and take your life, proudly?

I am standing here. I am here. I am here.

A good spiritual practice can't happen without a solid grounding in life, and sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is to plant your feet in the ground and work hard in this human world.

Our 8 assembly embodied the theme of authority. Self-authority.

What a fitting end to our journey together.

What a fitting beginning to our own journey that still lies ahead of us.

Are we right in life?

Roots deep in the earth.

Spine straight to support the weight.

Branches that bend in the wind so they don't break.

What does it look like for you?

It's a journey about deep self-care. About setting healthy boundaries, but keeping an open heart.

And with an open heart, we go out into the world. It is a brave thing.

Many of us want to become teachers. And receiving the certificate from KRI, Kundalini Research Institute comes with a code of ethics to sign and a lifestyle recommendation. It's a promise to stick to a certain standard while bringing the teachings to the world.

Fortunately, we had a healthy class discussion about the items on these lists. And even more interestingly, we were encouraged to write our own code of conduct.

It's something we all already have, but perhaps have never tried to put into words.

By what standards do you live your life? And more importantly: Why?

Take a look at how you do things the way you do. Is it the same? Or do you expect more from others than from yourself?

You can only receive what you give.

Especially as a teacher, you have a function as a mirror and gateway. What do you want to bring out? One of the items on my list?

"If I want to live in a better world, I have to bring it."

A lovely last session in the heart of Oslo.

And although this part of the journey has come to an end, it never really will. The lessons will spiral back into our lives and bring us deeper and higher from the center point.

I heard someone say recently:

"The finish line is for the ego, but the journey is for the soul."

It's surrendering to the spiral of life while in the present moment, because that's all there is.

So let's kill ourselves and carry a mirror for those who have forgotten that they can too.
